NEW!!!
In the wake of the devastating effects of the DANA that has affected Spain, speaker Manuel Cámara will share his personal experience. As an active volunteer in emergencies, Manuel has been on the front line, helping the communities most affected by the floods and disasters resulting from this extreme weather phenomenon. His testimony seeks to raise awareness of the importance of emergency preparedness and the crucial role of solidarity in times of crisis.
Apache Innovación welcomes the Erasmus course in Canary Islands, Spain, that will teach how teachers should manage emergencies and crisis situations in the classroom. An event dedicated to exploring and strengthening our ability to cope with risk and stress situations within schools, and more importantly, to learn how to prepare ourselves to deal with these unexpected situations. Throughout the conference, we will address critical issues that affect both educators and students with the aim of creating safer, more resilient and collaborative environments.
The first lectures will focus on the importance of emotional intelligence in teaching in order to optimise the development of classes. This will be followed by an introduction to the central theme of the conference: the neuropsychology of fear and decision-making in risky and stressful situations. How the brain reacts to fear, which is crucial for developing effective decision-making strategies in critical school environments, will be discussed.
Stress management in critical situations will be taught through practical workshops, such as breathing and apnoea, emotional self-regulation, efficient teamwork, basic self-defence against intruders and a practical workshop on first aid in the classroom and in outdoor extracurricular activities.
This course promises to be an enriching platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences and will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening our capacities and creating safer educational environments. Welcome!
But we will also complement your Erasmus experience with excursions and activities that will allow us to enjoy the excellences of the island where we are.
Preparing paella, walking along the dunes of Maspalomas beach, or visiting the Cuevas de Guayadeque are some of the leisure activities we have prepared to make the experience in Gran Canaria as complete as possible.
Excursions with jet ski.
Las Canteras beach in February.
It is a unique opportunity for any school professional committed to the safety and well-being of their students and colleagues.
This event addresses crucial topics such as the neuropsychology of fear and decision-making under pressure, providing tools to understand and manage behaviour in risky situations.
We will learn from experts about how our psychological responses can be modulated to make more effective decisions at critical moments.
Security is a key focus of the congress, highlighting preventive and reactive measures in the event of an armed intrusion.
The implementation of clear protocols and realistic drills not only prepares students, but also builds the confidence and competence of the entire school community.
Collaboration and teamwork strategies, essential for organised and efficient crisis management, will be explored.
This congress is a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences that will strengthen our capacities, creating safer and more resilient educational environments.
Practical workshops: with workshops on first aid or basic breathing techniques you will learn in a practical way how to perform these actions in the classroom.
Prestigious speakers: all the speakers participating in the event have a solid academic background and extensive field experience in the subjects in which they specialise.
Social programme: taking advantage of the unique natural setting of the Canary Islands, we will enjoy an extensive programme of activities and sightseeing tours.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the vibrant capital of the island of Gran Canaria, is an exceptional tourist destination that combines history, culture, beaches and nature in a cosmopolitan environment. Located in the archipelago of the Canary Islands, this city stands out for its subtropical climate, which makes it an ideal place to visit all year round.
One of the main attractions of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is its impressive coastline. Playa de Las Canteras, considered one of the best urban beaches in Europe, is the heart of the city’s beach life. With its golden sand and crystal-clear waters, this beach offers the perfect space for both relaxing in the sun and practising water sports such as surfing and snorkelling. The promenade along the beach is lined with restaurants, cafés and bars, where you can sample the rich local cuisine, which mixes Spanish flavours with African and Latin American influences.
The old town of Las Palmas, known as Vegueta, is a must for lovers of history and architecture. Its cobbled streets are lined with historic buildings dating back to colonial times, such as the majestic Cathedral of Santa Ana and the Casa de Colón, a museum dedicated to the history of the discovery of America and the figure of Christopher Columbus, who stopped over on the island during his first voyage to the New World.
Strolling through Vegueta is like travelling back in time, with its charming squares, markets and traditional shops.
Las Palmas is also a dynamic cultural centre. The Barrio de Triana, adjacent to Vegueta, is known for its theatres, art galleries and fashionable shops. Here you will find the Teatro Pérez Galdós, an important cultural centre that hosts numerous theatre, opera and concert performances. In addition, the city hosts several renowned festivals, such as the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival and the Carnival, one of the most colourful and lively in Spain, which attracts thousands of visitors every year.
For nature lovers, Las Palmas offers several green spaces and parks where you can enjoy the outdoors. The Viera y Clavijo Botanical Garden, located on the outskirts of the city, is an extensive garden that is home to a wide variety of Canarian and Macaronesian flora. Doramas Park, on the other hand, with its fountains and landscaped areas, is a perfect place for a leisurely stroll in the heart of the city.
The gastronomic offer of Las Palmas is another of its great attractions. From haute cuisine restaurants to tascas and guachinches, visitors can enjoy a wide range of dishes that stand out for the freshness of their local ingredients. You can’t miss the papas arrugadas con mojo (wrinkled potatoes with mojo sauce), sancocho canario (Canarian stew) or the delicious desserts such as bienmesabe.
In short, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a tourist destination that has it all: heavenly beaches, a rich historical and cultural heritage, a vibrant city life and exquisite gastronomy. Whether for a relaxing beach holiday, a cultural getaway or an adventure in nature, this Canarian city offers an unforgettable experience for all tastes.
